sandra juto

remember some time ago i have posted about smosch blog here? i have always wanted to do a Q&As with sandra juto - the blog owner who inspires a lot of people with her beautiful photos, illustrations and craft works. i'm so happy to present my second (little) interview with sandra. scroll down to read on.

big family of sandra's cute softies

how did you get started your craft, drawing and taking photos?
Being bored in my grandmother's kitchen, knitting and drawing were the perfect things to do. I get bored and restless very easily. I started taking photos to have a hobby and to get inspiration.

what medium do you use on your art? which media do you enjoy the most?
Pen, Pencil, Gouache, Computer... Gouache is my favourite, but the one I use the least, since I don't like to get dirty hands.

describe your art / style.
Spontaneous, screaming people, colourful, ironic, bizarre.

favourite artists?
Nina Hemmingsson, Edward Hopper, Camilla Engman, Jockum Nordström...

any current obsessions?
Having breakfast & reading at cafés, peaches, various blogs, beer.

current music and does it influence your work?
Joy Division, New Order, Arctic Monkeys, The Editors, I'm sure I'm being influenced in some way by everything I listen to and look at, but I can't say how.

describe your ideal weekend.
Breakfast at a café, long walk taking pictures, read books. In Gothenburg, Berlin or elsewhere.

where to from here?
Two more years on master's level (graphic design and illustration) + freelancing, have a dog, a car and no boss.

*thanks for sharing, sandra!*
