here are some highlights from my weekend. whitest boy alive, ladyhawke and the presets - you guys rock! oh and i think erlend øye is just the coolest nerd ever, i can watch him singing and dancing all day, i want to bring him home with me!

i heart ladyhawke! been playing her music everyday and i still don't get bored of it! i've bought my ticket to nevereverland - ladyhawke is going to play as well as my other favourite band the whitest boy alive (i mean, who doesn't love erlend øye that guy from kings of convenience?) here's a teaser of the venue, there are still a lot of other cool bands playing too so quick get your ticket!

oh gosh, it's monday evening already? wish i don't have to go back to work tomorrow...

it's that time again for monday mixtape. i've been so swamped lately - listening to the weepies, they're very nice, calming and relaxing.

black letter day

an old song by the cardigans but i just discovered it few days ago and got addicted to it. in lieu with this... my sister and i are planning on something. but i can't give you any hint, it's still yet to be announced later on, some time this year. i got quite excited!

happy monday off!

decided to make my first mixtape after i saw some on daydream lily and intimate vignettes. apart from that, highlight of the day includes shopping (i got a pair of pants, a skirt and a t-shirt for $10 each), baking orange and poppy seeds cake (my first successful cake!) and gym. i think i deserve to have fun, i've been working really hard ;p

firekites

i know i've mentioned briefly about how i was very obsessed (and i still am!) with firekites last time. BUT after their gig last thursday, i just have to say how awesome they are are on its own post! their new album the bowery is just so diverse and beautiful, i keep playing their music everyday now, so addictive! hope you enjoy it too. *thanks jc for introducing their music*

been listening to goldfrapp latest album seventh tree lately. and i think all those photos from her album cover are just as stunning as the music, does anyone know who the photographer is by any chance?

last week i went to a mika's concert, it was fun and colourful. the opening act by sparkadia was also good.

went to phoenix gig last night at factory theatre newtown. it was totally awesome! great great performance and interaction with the audiences. love them heaps! so just wondering, what kind of music are you all into? any current fave song?

josh pyke

last night i went to see josh pyke's concert with some friends. he has good music, he sings and plays guitar very well, but i think i'll have to think twice before i decide to go to a calming acoustic concert like this. don't get me wrong, not that i didn't enjoy it, but i guess this kind of concert is not very me. but anyway! i think he has a very wonderful website, i like the illustrations a lot! moreover, all of his cd covers and video clips (private education, middle of the hill, and memories and dust) are truly amazing! wonder who were behind this whole beautiful package? excellent works!

cafe: badde manors

end of fashion

it was the busiest week i had in the office and so glad it's weekend, esp it was friday night end of fashion concert! finally the first concert i went to in sydney (the last gig i went to was kasier chiefs back then sept 2005 in amsterdam). it's a local indie rock band. i don't really know much about this band before, but hey, they were actually really good last night! great performance, good connection with the audiences. so i guess the crowd was as happy as me.

in the opening act, we also had the cloud room from nyc, which was also awesome, and van she, which was ok but wasn't really my taste. i really like their song kelly though. very very happy and satisfied! think i have to check out metro theatre schedule more often now! have a lovely weekend, people!
