blog action day

it's time for us rethink about what we can do to save the environment, as our one and only earth is getting old. join blog action day today and see how bloggers can make a difference about this issue! anyway, i won't bore you with blabbering about heavy stuff on global warming, overpopulation, polutions or that sort of things on my post today. i just want to point out that we can start to do something even from the simplest thing like recycling!

this picture is taken from one of the australian supermarket chain catalogue. reuse old pretty wine bottles, olive oil bottles, balsamic vinegar bottles or jars as vases. you just need to soak them in soapy water overnight to peel of the label easily.

i also have my own chrome desk accessories made of an old soup can. i use it to put my pens and pencils.

just a bit of creativity can help us save our planet. if you have some ideas that you would like to share with others, please leave a comment and i will check your blog post :) find out more about blog action day here or check out their blog here.

the paper crane project #2

it has been a while since i took this picture for the paper crane project i've posted 2 months ago. it's not the best photo but i've decided to share it with you all anyway :) liz is not accepting requests for cranes as she has received 1000, but have a look at the flickr group to see updates and others' crane photos. enjoy your sunday!

the paper crane project

i found out about this wonderful project from sia. the paper crane project is created by liz from abstract the day. basically, liz will send out 1000 paper cranes to 1000 people. each person who receives it will then send her back a picture of the crane, either digitally or mail it back to her in print, and she will then put them altogether as some sort of installation. find out more about 1000 cranes inspiring history here. i think this is lovely, i sent an email to liz as soon as i finished reading about the project! *thanks for the link, sia!*

photo project

i am joining in dawbis' one week photo project! here are my photos:

day01: on saturday, photograph the first thing you see. good morning sunshine, this is the view outside the window of my bedroom.

day02: on sunday, photograph something you would like to remember always. "creativity is a choice, not a gift". i love a free postcard with good design and meaningful words. got this one back then in the netherlands.

day03: on monday, photograph someone random on the street. this task was really tricky. i decided to photograph a busker after walking away a few steps from him as i didn't want anybody to think i'm a stalker hehe...

day04: on tuesday, take a photograph of your feet. me and my grey stripes flat shoes.

day05: on wednesday, photograph your lunch. homemade tomato rice with rocket leaves, mozarella cheese and herbs.

day06: on thursday, photograph the sky. grey and cloudy, not a very good time for taking pictures...

day07: on friday, take a self-portrait. it's always difficult for me to take a picture of myself! sorry it's a little bit blurry!

day08: on the following Saturday, photograph the last thing you see before you enter your home to rest for the day. this 1908 vintage building is a backpacker accommodation right across our apartment.

thanks dawbis for the wonderful inspiring project, it was a great fun :)
