well anyway, i'm so glad farah left me some messages in my shoutbox! haven't heard from her in ages! hello to you all in the netherlands, i really miss you all! those times in holland.. the gigs in paradiso, the chinese food, the cafe bars (bar p, bazar, zin, haagse lounge, the mansion, cafe aroma and werck just to name a few), koffie verkeerd and cakes, glasses of rosé...*sigh* look forward to going back for a visit!

this time my post features tord boontje. thanks to joy i found the link to artecnica, an architectural studio offering great home decorative products, i especially love the ones designed by this artist. below are just a few of my fave works by boontje. these lights are just georgous!!! have a lovely weekend!
1. garland light; with metallic sculptural design
2. midsummer light; how cute.. my office has some of these lights
3. shadow light; projecting multi-coloured images on the surroundings

jessica simpson and usher are just a few glimpse of kirsten ulve's artworks. it's a lot of fun browsing through her website. find out more caricatures, illustrations and animations on kirsten's website!
finally we've watched da vinci code last friday. after reading the book a while ago, i was so curious to see the movie. no surprise though that the movie wasn't as good as the novel, in fact i found it a bit disappointing. it was so packed at the beginning while the ending went quite slow. there were great actors playing but seems like there were no strong characters shown in the movie. moreover, i bet this movie would be very confusing for those who haven't read the book yet.**

excellent works from souther salazar - thanks joy for sharing the link with all of us! really enjoyed looking at his art; it's saturday morning and i have diana krall on my music. how peaceful :)
i was just browsing through crust station and found this amazing french artist rébecca dautremer with her magnificent artworks. with her graphic design degree, she then became a graphic editor and illustrator. few years ago she even started to write her own books. the astonishing works above were taken from cyrano, the book she published in collaboration with her husband taï-marc le thanh. *thanks for the link babelfish!*

it was the busiest week i had in the office and so glad it's weekend, esp it was friday night end of fashion concert! finally the first concert i went to in sydney (the last gig i went to was kasier chiefs back then sept 2005 in amsterdam). it's a local indie rock band. i don't really know much about this band before, but hey, they were actually really good last night! great performance, good connection with the audiences. so i guess the crowd was as happy as me.in the opening act, we also had the cloud room from nyc, which was also awesome, and van she, which was ok but wasn't really my taste. i really like their song kelly though. very very happy and satisfied! think i have to check out metro theatre schedule more often now! have a lovely weekend, people!
whoa, i've got so many things to post as i haven't got a chance to do it during the week. it was last tuesday that we went to see mission impossible 3. hmm.. what can i say about this movie.. you see the movie not for the story but more for the actions and special effects, or perhaps because tom cruise is in it?? for me, i watched the movie because i've seen the first and the second, so i feel that i should watch the last sequel too. a so-so action movie, nothing new, nothing wow.**
title: kingdom of the golden dragon
author: isabel allendean adventurous novel for young adults. reporter kate cold escorts her grandson, alexander, and his closest friend, nadia, along with the photographers from international geographic, on a journey to a remote niche of the world. entering a forbidden sovereignty tucked in the frosty peaks of the himalayas, the team’s task is to locate its fabled golden dragon, a sacred statue and priceless oracle that can foretell the future of the kingdom. good light reading and pretty entertaining.***
it feels like a long time ago (well it was actually last weekend, but it does feel like ages ago!) that i went to westfield bondi junction and visited the famous top3 home and furnishing store. i just love this store, they sell many kinds of unique and funky knick-knacks to decorate your home or office including this stylish stationary by the sweedish design kikki-k. a great selection of stationary is available in different kinds of beautiful colours to brighten up your day! ahhh, i can't wait for the weekend to come!
